For college-age youth from across the state of Texas, we have created the Texas College Voter Quiz. This quick quiz will let you know whether you should vote from your home address or whether your vote will have a greater impact at your school. |
2.
Once you've determined where you'll be voting from, check your registration status to make sure you're registered to vote. |
3.
If you're not registered, register as soon as possible –– deadlines are fast approaching. |
4.
Become a poll worker. Anyone age 16 or older can be a poll worker in the State of Texas. In a year when many polling places have been closed, and many older poll workers are less comfortable with volunteering due to the coronavirus, being a poll worker is more important than ever. |
5.
Decide who you'll be voting for. It's not just the presidential election! there are dozens state and local elections that are just as important! If you'd like some input on the candidates who have done the most to promote the issues impacting Houston's youth, w'ell be releasing our 2020 endorsements before early voting begins. |
6.
Cast your ballot! If you're voting by mail, request your absentee ballot now! When it arrives, select your candidates and mail your ballot back immediately! If you're voting in-person, locate your polling place before you go vote. You never know what 2020 will bring, so make a plan to vote as early as possible. Early voting in Texas starts on October 13 at 7:00 AM and ends on October 30 at 7:00 PM. If you're voting in another state, make sure to check and make sure you know when early voting is available. NOTE: If you are told at a polling place that you do not have proper registration, you still have the right to cast a provisional ballot! This is a ballot that will be counted after they confirm that you a registered.
